Coromandel Town has opened up blue skies to welcome me, tho the sky was heavy and foreboding when I first arrived. I found the hostel - super cute vine covered & funky little hideaway by a creek, and Oh what happy accident, who should I find here but dear Marion, who was one of my crew in Taupo!!! Really a delightful surprise! She is leaving tomorrow, but we have plans to meet on Friday at Cathedral Cove (looks like I will be sharing a car rental for the trip with a Swedish boy who’s also staying here)… sweet! Tonight we are splurging on a nice dinner out at a restaurant… ooh la la :).
Whoops! This never got posted. ok well I am now at the other end of my stay here, it’s Sunday, and almost 10am. Lesson of the day: research all travel details before choosing a plan that “sounds nice”, especially when it involves travel on a Sunday! Minutes from having to check out of this hostel, threatening to rain, the library is closed on Sundays, and my shuttle to the Auckland ferry isn't till 4pm… hmmm… : / Btw, Marion stayed til yesterday, and we may even meet up again in the Northland… we’ll see, but either way, a delightful person I am very glad to have met. My time in C-Town has been very rich in all ways - people, headspace, Nature, and learning. I am feeling full of quiet contentment and anticipation of the last leg of NZ travel, not to mention that I’ll be in Indo A WEEK TOMORROW!!! What a new level of adventure that promises to be :)
