Reggae-splendent & jaw-dropping view on the front deck of the cafe/office building at Solscape. A warm and wide-smiled welcome to meet my light heart today, this place feels good (ever-present hippy music notwithstanding!). We are high up on a ridge overlooking Manu Bay and miles of emerald-&-black coastline zig-zagging out as far as the eye can see. Lights shifts from silver to white gold to silver again as the skies open, close with 50-shades-of-grey cloud, and open. I met my (charming Italian surfer) roommate as soon as I arrived, and walked with him 20+ minutes down the road to Manu Bay - the waves here are FAT and the shoulders crumbly - set waves head high +. Today, at least. Not entirely convinced Tilda and I will deepen our relationship here (black volcanic rocks are razor-sharp!!), but I can camp out all day and choose my moments, so who knows… The setup here at Solscape is exactly what I’d hoped for, as for as a self-imposed retreat is concerned - 2 yoga classes available almost every day, and plenty of quiet for meditation…(may have to bundle up, tho, and Sit out of doors, to escape the world surf music/reggae action :))… we’ll see). Tomorrow I will figure out posting photos, substandard though they are…it’s pretty damn cute here, with reconditioned railway cabooses for dorms, earth domes, a tipi forest, and beautifully silvered wooden common buildings, plus numerous organic vegetable and flower gardens…oh, and all solar-powered :)
Ok yoga class calls (taught by, unbelievably, a young woman from Victoria BC!!!)
