Another pretty perfect day here at Solscape. Today started with a beautiful soft rain, the sounds of which as it sprinkled and spattered on my caboose roof woke me up in such a gentle, romantic way. I missed morning yoga (got the time wrong), but as fate would have it, met the co-owner of this magical place, and ended up going surfing with him! The waves were shoulder to head high at first, tho I swear at one point the set waves were double that! Tilda is an interesting craft, for sure - it can feel quite vulnerable out there on your belly, bobbing about like a cork, on a wiggly mat rather than the sleek sexiness of a surfboard that I am accustomed to. I had a blast, tho’ - caught 2 pretty massive set waves, and it felt like I was sliding down the side of an ocean liner - a sheer and heaving wall. I’ve likened surfing to the experience (imagined!) of riding an avalanche, only the mountain is falling too, and chasing you down…this definitely felt similar, the scale that much more intense for being on my belly. FUN! I do miss actually surfing (on a board), but today reminded me that just being out in the ocean is such a powerful tonic for my soul - the sea has really become Source for me, and I’ve only to be in it to feel saved, salved, and full of joy.
Afternoon of reading in the sun, playing soccer with Pippi, the insatiable pitbull, a town run with Dominic for groceries, and a Mysore yoga class to come at 6:30. My shoulder is not great, but am hoping this week of yoga will be a good way to bring it back from 2&1/2 months of disuse and relative incapacity. Phil said he and his partner Bernadette started this place 13 years ago. What a beautiful vision they have made manifest. Ok nothing much more to report - I’m fresh-air tired, noodle-full, and have to restore my energy for yoga class. Adieu.
